Where the repair work goes missing

The worn hook you found in March shouldn't still be open at the next annual

Deficiencies written into a PDF report are rarely followed up, and the quoted repair goes to whoever calls the plant first. In HoistDue each one has a status, and it moves.

  1. 1Open

Hook throat opening 6% past new. Photo attached, crane C-4 restricted.

  2. 2Quoted

Office adds the $1,480 hook block replacement and sends it to the plant.

  3. 3Approved

Plant maintenance manager approves it in the portal, with a PO number.

  4. 4Repaired

Repair visit marked done; the deficiency moves to repaired on its own.

  5. 5Verified

Post-repair inspection passes. C-4 goes back in service on the dashboard.

Pick the crane, tick hook and rope or chain, record the result and add a photo for anything wrong. Periodic, frequent, load test, initial and post-repair inspections all sit on the crane's record.

Company plan

A portal for the plant's maintenance manager

  • Sees only their plant: every crane with its next periodic and frequent due date.
  • Opens past inspection reports and prints them for the safety file.
  • Approves or declines a quoted repair with a note, so you schedule the work the same day.
  • Logs the plant's own monthly hook and rope inspections, which move the frequent due date.

Questions buyers ask

Hoist and crane inspection requirements, and how HoistDue fits

What is crane inspection software?
It replaces the Excel crane list and the paper checklist: every customer's cranes and hoists with their next inspection dates, inspection records made on site, the report, and the follow-up on deficiencies. HoistDue is built for the companies that inspect and repair overhead cranes for many customer plants.
What are OSHA's overhead crane and hoist inspection requirements?
OSHA 1910.179 calls for frequent inspections at daily to monthly intervals and periodic inspections at 1 to 12 month intervals, depending on service, plus a monthly hook and rope inspection with a dated, signed record. HoistDue tracks both intervals per crane and keeps every inspection on file.
What does the overhead crane inspection checklist cover?
Each inspection records the type, date, inspector, result, whether the hook and the rope or chain were checked, a load test percentage when there is one, a summary, and the deficiencies found: component (hook, wire rope, load chain, brake, limit switch, pendant, runway, end trucks, festoon, capacity markings, structure), severity and a photo.
Can I bring in my existing crane lists?
Yes. Paste each customer's crane list from Excel or Google Sheets, header row included, and HoistDue adds the cranes with their unit IDs, capacities, serials and next due dates. Plants import the same way, and both export to CSV.
Can my customers see their own cranes?
On the Company plan, each plant's maintenance or safety lead gets a login that shows only their plant: cranes and due dates, past reports, tagged-out cranes and repair quotes to approve or decline. They can also log their own monthly hook and rope checks.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 30 days with everything on the Solo plan and no card. After that your records stay readable until you pick a plan.
